We collect personal data when you register, when you use the site and when you contact us. We ask only for what we need to run your account, keep the site secure and meet the duties that apply to a licensed gambling operator.
Account and contact details
- Your name, date of birth, residential address, e-mail address and telephone number as entered at registration.
- Your username, password and the security details used to recover access to your account.
- Your marketing preferences and contact settings.
- Messages you send us by e-mail or live chat, including complaints and the notes we make when handling them.
Identity and age verification documents
We hold a gaming licence and must satisfy ourselves that every customer is 18 or over and is who they say they are. To do this we collect and keep the documents you upload or that our checks return, such as proof of identity, proof of address and proof of ownership of a payment method, together with the outcome and date of each check.
Transactions and play
- Deposits, withdrawals, the payment methods used and the masked card or account references shown in the cashier.
- Balance history, bonus activity and wagering progress.
- A record of the games you open, the stakes placed and the outcomes.
- The deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion settings applied to your account.
Device and usage data
When you visit the site we record technical data: your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, operating system, language settings, and the pages and features you use. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Why we use your personal data
We use your personal data for the following purposes and no others:
- To open and run your account, process deposits and withdrawals, and credit winnings and bonuses.
- To verify your age and identity and to confirm the source of a payment method before a withdrawal is released.
- To detect and prevent fraud, collusion, bonus abuse, unauthorised account access and money laundering.
- To meet our legal and regulatory duties, including record keeping, reporting and responding to lawful requests.
- To operate safer gambling tools, apply the limits shown in your account, act on time-outs and self-exclusions, and signpost support from GambleAware, GamCare, GamStop and the National Gambling Helpline.
- To answer your questions and look into any complaint you raise with us.
- To send offers, promotions and news where you have opted in.
- To keep the site available and secure and to understand how it is used so we can improve it.
Marketing is always your choice
You can turn marketing messages off at any time in your account settings, by using the unsubscribe option in any e-mail, or by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not stop the service messages we must send about your account, payments or verification.
The legal bases we rely on under UK GDPR
Data protection law requires us to have a lawful reason for each use of your personal data. In plain words, these are the reasons we rely on.
| What we use your data for | Legal basis | What this means |
|---|---|---|
| Opening and running your account, processing payments and settling bets | Performance of a contract | We cannot provide the account you asked for without this data. |
| Age and identity checks, anti-money-laundering checks, record keeping and regulatory reporting | Legal obligation | The law and our licence conditions require us to do this. |
| Fraud prevention, site security, safer gambling monitoring and improving our service | Legitimate interests | We have a genuine business reason and we balance it against your privacy. |
| Marketing messages and optional cookies | Consent | You chose to receive this and can change your mind at any time. |
| Keeping records needed to defend or bring a legal claim | Legitimate interests or legal obligation | We may need to show what happened on an account. |
How long we keep your personal data
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is open, and after closure for the period that gambling, anti-money-laundering, tax and accounting law requires us to retain it. Retention periods differ by record type, so verification documents, transaction records and support correspondence are not all kept for the same length of time.
When a retention period ends, we delete the data or hold it in a form that no longer identifies you. Two exceptions apply: records relating to a self-exclusion are kept for at least the period the scheme and our licence conditions require, and we keep a minimal suppression record so that we do not contact you again after you have opted out.
Your rights, cookies and how to contact us
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate details corrected.
- Ask us to erase data we no longer have a reason to keep.
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data while a question about it is open.
- Object to uses based on our legitimate interests, and to opt out of marketing at any time.
- Receive certain data in a portable format or withdraw consent you previously gave.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data.
To use any of these rights, write to support@casino-hotstreak.co.uk or speak to us on live chat; data protection enquiries can also be sent to privacy@casino-hotstreak.co.uk. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, and we will reply within the time limit the law allows. Please raise any concern with us first so we can look into it.
Some data we must keep
We cannot erase verification, transaction or self-exclusion records that we are legally required to retain, and we cannot lift a self-exclusion early at your request.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your settings, protect the site against fraud and, with your consent, measure how the site is used. You can accept or decline optional cookies when you first visit and change your choice at any time in the cookie settings; full details, including the categories we use and how long each lasts, are set out in our Cookie Policy.
We may update this policy from time to time. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you through the site or by e-mail. The version shown here is the one that applies to your account with us.
